For those who are interested:

It is possible to enable the FTP service in Lion. For anyone who is interested, I can send them the information that I received from the net.

Cheers.

Hello Jim

Be mindful that the native FTP service is basic and requires that the user has a full user account on your Mac, which is tedious.

I was under the impression that FTP was not officially supported in Lion.

Hello Jim

Yes, it is supported. It's print service that isn't supported. FTP is a basic Internet service and without it no server would be complete.

I know I'm right because Gordon has just been reading the advanced admin documentation on the subject. But support is poor because it's tied to Mac users and accounts.
